Four things this list will tell you that most lists won't

Six top-ranked institutes do not teach MBBS at all

PGIMER Chandigarh, SGPGIMS Lucknow, NIMHANS Bengaluru, SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram, ILBS Delhi and the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute all appear high in the NIRF medical rankings, but they are postgraduate or super-specialty institutes. A NEET-UG candidate cannot apply to them for MBBS. We have kept them in the list, clearly marked, so you understand why.

Two "official" college websites are no longer official

The domains commonly listed online for Topiwala National Medical College (Nair Hospital, Mumbai) and Andhra Medical College now redirect to unrelated commercial websites. We have removed both links rather than send students to them, and point you to the government authority instead.

We do not publish fees

MBBS fees change every year and vary by quota, category and state regulation. We could not verify a single fee figure from a primary source, so we publish none. The reliable places are MCC's fee and bond disclosures, your state's fee regulatory authority, and the college's own admission bulletin.

Your state rank often matters more than your All India Rank

Only 15% of government seats are filled through All India Quota counselling by MCC. The other 85% go through your own state's counselling authority, where you compete against candidates from your state, not the whole country.

Where the ranking comes from. NIRF India Rankings 2025, Medical category, published 4 September 2025. NIRF ranks only a top 50 in Medical — colleges shown without a rank number are institutions we have added because they matter to NEET aspirants, not because NIRF placed them there. NIRF 2026 had not been published as of 11 August 2026; we will refresh this page when it is.

Counselling authorities. All India Quota, deemed universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, ESIC and central universities are counselled by the Medical Counselling Committee at mcc.nic.in. The 85% state quota is handled separately by each state's own authority, with its own schedule, domicile rules and registration. You can register for both.
